user reviews of Royal Standard, Hayle

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Utterly soulless.
It's supposed to be wheelchair friendly, but has several steps at both entrances.
Smoke Free outside Area - Where ? Both outside areas have ash-bins for smokers, and are used freely.
Morose staff but average ales.
Soulless inside & out.
Won’t be going back.

Had a fantastic evening, not just saying that because we won the darts 8-4, the Trelawny was lovely and good value and really enjoyed the food! Looking forward to going there next season, and hopefully may be able to pop down during the summer for a visit.

great to go into a wet pub with out having to fight for a place with the eating brigade. ian the landlord lets you pop across the road for a pastie to eat in no problem. tribute beer is always good. lovers of the kop are welcomed by angie.

the least inviting looking pub in hayle, I havn't actually used it so it may be brilliant, not judging by the last comment though

Not a great experience here. Sat in the only seats available which happened to be under the tv. As soon as we sat down the barman used the remote to turn up the volume very loud. Obviously we weren't supposed to sit there, even though nobody was even watching what was on. Lots of foul-mouths playing pool. Won't bother to return.
