Tried both the Tribute and the Dartmoor ale - both well served.
Did eat here, the menu is pretty standard pub grub, but was tasty and not over priced.
Overall a good pub, with friendly locals and were happy for me to bring the dog in.

Went in hoping to get some lunch: reasonable welcome, and decent beer. The menu looked mass-catering and overpriced to me, so hopped on a bus to Portloe instead.

Nice pub, and very good beer, especially the HSD. I did not try the food but it seemed very popular.

You'd think in a rural pub you'd be allowed to take your dog, but not here. Apparently the landlord's dogs don't like other dogs.So there. Not welcome. Must be traditional Cornish hospitality, which was in little evidence in this lovely county.

I can only assume the previous anonymous poster is either a snob, blind, stupid, or an ignorant tourist.

Nice country pub that does food a bit beyond the usual "pie n chips" fare. Still maintains its character (that'll be the 'tacky' country beams, brasses and wood-burning fire) despite getting deluged with tourists in the summer months. Maintains some good casque-mark beers (the Dartmoor was nice), with a decent selection of wines for those that prefer it.

Very nice beer garden out back as well.

If you're lucky, towards the end of the night, the 'trailer park' locals will sing some traditional Cornish songs - and they can hold a note, too!
