user reviews of Downlands, Worthing

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Unfortunately, this is my local and for some strange reason drink there with my pals every other week. The beer (Bitter) is cheap, but tastes poor.

The staff are nice, but seem to be restaurant focused, so the drinking bar is often understaffed.

The food is rubbish, but the ch4vs like it and some even dress up which provides good entertainment!

Good for a quiet drink with a group a friends when you want to have a good old natter. The smell of a roast dinner hits you as soon as you walk in the door. Food typically chain orientated though, mostly microwaved to heat i should think. Maybe the smell comes out of a packet too.

Staff quite friendly. Prices average.

Now a Toby carvery, food not bad, beer still pricey. Not bad for a family meal.

A Beefeater I think. Chain pub / foodery type place , foods OK, you know the sort of stuff. Main bar though is well done out and a very pleasent place for a couple, as is the sunny beer garden. Handy if your passing through Worthing (Why would anyone want to do that?) or a local.
