A St Austell brewery house.

Small village pub with one bar and seating scattered around inside. Seems to be quite popular with locals and had a beer festival on at time of visit and the entire local population seemed to be there. Usual St Austell beers with a fine pint of 'Proper Job'. Car park and seating outside.
Apparently used to be called the 'Sun' but the name was changed back in the eighties foe some unknown reason, interesting selection of photographs on the walls showing mining in the area.
A good little local pub, the only fault I could find was the gents, which needs a good sluice out as was pretty grim, (toilets are housed in a separate building to the front of the pub).

April 2011. Disappointing! We chose the Crow's Nest for a lunch venue having visited local sights. Claimed to have locally sourced food. Examined menu to find such things as tuna and mayo baguette (exorbitant 6!) or prawn baguette (6.50). Is the term 'locally sourced' to mean local cash-and-carry? Bowl of soup was disappointingly tiny with very small piece of French stick at 5. Need to have small stomach and large pocket.

My wife & I had my birthday meal in the Crows Nest yesterday evening (Friday 3rd Apr) and we would like to express how much we enjoyed a marvellous meal in a truly friendly well kept pub. We are back home now after our brief holiday which is a pity as we would love to have gone back again for another great meal. The staff were brilliant.

Another change of managemrnt has brought the previous landlord and wife back to the Crow's Nest. Super food, extremely friendly service and decent beer, what more could you want?

Yes I have something to say about this pub.
WELCOME BACK TIM AND ABBI
We have waited a year for your return and all of your old customers will be back in droves.
