user reviews of Grange, Bermondsey

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Decided to pop into this one on the way home; home would have been a better option. Unfortunately delivers all the stereotypes of a Bermondsey pub, without the character.

Stayed for 3 nights in June 09. Was 4 beds in room and just me! Food very basic - just had breakfast - don't ask for wholemeal bread, they will look at you like you are a weirdo. Just stayed there as I was working as a chef over the road doing really long days so didn't drink at the bar - they seem to rent a fair amount of rooms and it has a slightly hotel feel. Lot of workmen seem to stay as it is cheap - 115 for 3 nights. Rooms need a makeover. Would recommend if you are not too fussy.

Always has a couple of guest ales in good condition, but the staff have often been rather unfriendly/unwelcoming on the times I've been there.

Great London boozer of the kind that seem to be getting boarded up and demolished for flats on a regular basis, which would be a shame, as The Grange serves decent beer, doesn't overcharge and has been busy on the two chances I've had to visit. Worth looking in on before or after football at Millwall.
