Well must say can’t understand last post. this pub has drastically turned around in last couple months. New manager and staff have cleaned in and out. Even the beer is drinkable now. Music on Fridays and Saturdays and it’s cheapest in town. Heard a refit is due so even more to look forward to. Still a locals pub

Kind of gone the opposite to the last poster - used to be somewhere to drop by but now it's somewhere to avoid.

Well, this used to be an "avoid" pub. Not any more though. They seem to be getting away from that rough image and reputation that they had in the past. I've been in a few times in the past 5/6 months and it's been fine. Nice to see live music here at the weekends too. Definitely better.

Was pleased to see this pub now selling good real ales, in the past they have been rather toxic but the new management seem to be on top of them.

Visited this pub on a Thursday night and was good to see it busy, the staff were very welcoming.

Will definetly be re visiting.

A cosy oasis of calm form the High Street outside. Like walking in to someone's front room. Unfortunately it's a McMullen's house.
