user reviews of the Angel Inn, Hetton

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Not a boozer. It's a restaurant serving food in the restaurant or in the bar area. Beer well kept. Food tasty and beautifully prepared as you'd expect at the price. The service was quirky.

I am amazed there have not been any recent reviews of The Angel. No it's not a pub,but they do sell well kept hand pulled beer.WE have been using the place for over twenty years and with a few exceptions have always found the food excellent.
The layout of the bar is poor-there is little room to stand and drink-particularly when staff and customers want to get oast you to go to and from the snug.
If you like real ale and good food there are few better places.

Not really so much a pub any more, though the Ale is good. Expensive excellent - super Gastro!! A lovely building, well kept and i na pleasant rural setting. Recommended.

Possibly the most expensive pint of bitter outside Mayfair. Not a bad pint. Technically a pub in that it sells beer - in so much as The Ivy is a pub...

One of the best gastro-pubs in the North. Food verges into Michelin quality in the restarant, good range of local real ale and a stupendously good wine list. Well worth a visit.
