user reviews of the Open Arms, Cheylesmore

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Open Arms was our second Ember Inns pub of the day in Coventry. It was a typical version of the chain and the L-shaped room was quite busy on our early Saturday evening visit. Ales were Black Sheep Ember Pale Ale, Brakspear Oxford Gold, Butcombe Bitter, Adnams Ghost Ship & Skinners Porthleven.

Nice little Ember Inns Pub about a mile from the station.
8 hand pulls, 7 for ale and 1 for cider split 5/3 on each end of bar.
M&B Brew XI @ £2.59 & Marstons Pedigree @ £2.99 are the regulars.
The rest are all guest ales that sell for £2.99 a pint.
I had a very nice pint of Holden Brewing Co Number Four.
All guest ales are £2.49 a pint on a Monday.
I didn’t eat but there are some good deals before 5 Mon-Sat on food.

nice pub, good atmosphere. attracts the horrible pretty boys though and middle aged men witrh gelled hair and shirts. scampi looked good though, and pints are great. stella is brill!

Nice pub with a mixture of clientelle and all ages. Good range of beer with occasional beer festivals spread over a week or so. Good food and reasonable prices. Real ales are usually on good form too. Has a good garden/patio area with good access for wheelchairs from there. Gets busy on a Friday night!
