To all who turned up for the Boiler Disco / Groovy Gig on Saturday 12th to pay tribute to Alison McCarthy - it was fabulous seeing everyone together again after all these years. Absolutely incredible night & venue - good to see the old place still rocking. So much still to talk about, so see you same place , same time next year.

Not the best decorated pub in town, but in my eyes it is one of the best for cheap drinks, a friendly atmosphere, a laid back feel and the excellent bands at weekends. As it is not right in the centre of town, it is a good pub to go to get away from all the clubs and bars, to chill. Well worth a visit (on a Friday or Saturday night).

good if you have kids and have nowhere else to go! have some top local bands on most weekends though and cheep beer! always a bonus. all the old school racehorse crowd are in there(hence the kids)at weekends.dead in the week. sometimes there is a dj upstairs too playing reggae or ska music.

Its not necessary to be a club member (or even to vote labour!)Wicked intimate live music venue, free entrance to all. They often do free food too.Kids are welcome &theres a pool table. Very friendly welcoming place. Dead quiet during the week though.
