Disgraceful pub, rude staff, appauling manager, rank drinks and disgusting food. and thats me being nice. cant actually believe this pub is attached to a place that allows children. -100/10. lovespubsss - 22 May 2011 10:09
visited this pub last saturday, had the most disgusting, rude service from the poor excuse of a manager. So bad i actually left before even finishing my order. Anyone considering visiting this pub with or without children i suggest you steer WELL CLEAR. That is unless you want a pint of slop, shouted at when you ask kindly to change it and sworn at when youre leaving, carrying a 1 year old child. Think i actually dodged a bullet by leaving and not eating there, as if they behave like that front of house, i cant even imagine what they behave like back of house, let alone the kitchen! Suggestion: If youre nearby this pub and are hungry or thirsty, theres a BP garage not too far down the road, failing that, GO HUNGRY! stambaran66 - 3 May 2011 10:46
I have just visited the Myllet Arms on the Western Ave. On arrival at 4.30pm I was greeted by the owner/manager who was lovely. She was welcoming and made a joke to put my family and me at ease then she sat with us while she explained the menu. We made our choices and walked to the bar to place our order as instructed. The barman ‘Billy’ was also great, he was professional and chatty and when I asked if they had Sky sports he apologised and said that they didn’t but suggested I write a review on the pub on www.tellusandwin.co.uk and suggest the pub gets the sports channel on there. I placed the order and after about 20 mins the food arrived. IT WAS WRONG the waitress, a very discourteous young lady, put the food down in front of my husband and when I told her the other plate in her hand was not what we ordered she was not very happy and asked 3 times if I was sure. I told her what I should have received. She then disappeared while my husband sat and waited for his pepper sauce that should have accompanied his sirloin steak. He waited for about 5 mins but there was nobody around to ask, so he tucked in before it got cold. The minutes ticked by and me and my son were getting restless. 15 minutes later a cocky young male arrived out of the kitchen and spoke to some fellow dinners about their order. Billy attempted to discreetly get his attention and tell him that the order was ours to which he shouted ‘NO IT ISNT, THEY’VE GOT THEIR FOOD’ at the top of his lungs. At this point I was annoyed and hungry. So I said ‘Actually we haven’t’. He came over to our table and showed us our order on a ticket. ‘Yes that’s our order I replied’ Mr cocky said ‘but eees eaten arf is food so there aint nuffin I can do’ At this point Miss discourteous arrived. After the problem was explained to her she asked me in a very annoyed tone ‘So what do you want now?’ That was the last straw. I said ‘I don’t want anything, but I am still waiting for a chicken burger and an Italian chicken and my husband asked for pepper sauce with his sirloin. Mr cocky repeated, shaking his head arrogantly ‘there aint nuffin I can do cos eeees eaten arf of it’. Miss discourteous said ‘the rest is on the way’ they walked away from our table squabbling and arguing all the way to the kitchen. So far absolutely no sign of an apology. About 5 mins later my sons and my food arrived. It was perfectly acceptable and at 2 for £10 good value for money. My husbands pepper sauce that he paid an extra £1.00 for also arrived but he had finished by then. Mr cocky murmured ‘Sorry for the wait as he walked away’. Rude staff, and I’m sorry but I will not be returning. kuddlykiran - 2 Apr 2011 20:25
The new manager arrived at the beginning of December 2008 and already there is a huge difference. The hoardes of travellers are gone and any that are left know that it is unwise to misbehave as the new Manager, a female by the way, will not allow it. She has also segregated the pub/restaurant into a family area and an adult area so catering for all needs. Try it i promise you will see the difference Georg - 16 May 2009 08:56
