Great location in a stunning coastal area. The pub has a decent garden although it does get a bit windy sitting outside. Inside is slightly more disapointing though. Ploughmans lunch was ok and pint of Fosters was refreshing too. Not an outstanding place but worth popping in if just been down on the beach. 7/10 montie49 - 20 Nov 2014 18:42 |

Went back this year whilst on holiday. Pub has been "done out". It's now a video walled teenager place. IMHO totally spoilt. alan0659 - 2 Aug 2008 20:35 |
A good alehouse in what is, frankly, a bit of 'beer desert'. The landlord and staff and locals are very friendly and the food is good value for money. Myself the lady wife and the half pints spent a fortnight in Hele this year, (2006), and most evenings ended in the Hele Bay. The beers were Hopback Summer lightning which was kept in good condition, Courage Best Bitter which was surprisingly good for such a poor product and Morland's Old Speckled Hen which is not to my taste so I cannot comment on its condition. doctorpint - 26 Aug 2006 19:25 |
I visited this pub while on holiday in July 2006. I got an exceptionally friendly welcome. Food was basic but very good and cheap. The beer (London Pride I think) was kept well. alan0659 - 25 Jul 2006 20:36 |
