| Comprises of cosy areas to sit and still enjoy Wye Valley beers. Large beer garden to the rear and sizable room for bands and live music to be performed. Excellent Sunday Lunches served most of Sunday! normality2000 - 21 Nov 2022 22:24 |
| Came in here in June (2019) so as always, I'm late with my posts. I really liked the place. Quite a bright and cheery interior and staff and locals friendly. Seemed well set up for both drinkers and eaters. The food menu looked fine but I didn't eat. On one visit during my stay in the town, the Cricket World Cup was on TV - England were playing and getting well beaten by Australia and it was pleasing to see the Welsh locals supping the English team. I had a few pints of Butty Bach and Wye Valley's HPA - both very good indeed. | Huge place which was very quiet when we went for a drink on a friday. We got the impression that it would get busy later and from the advertisments on the walls (and the comments on here) that would appear to be the case. | A no frills boozer that seems to be trying to cater more for the youth market. There was karaoke in progress on a recent Saturday evening visit, and lots of shrieking females who seemed to be enjoying it. The bar itself is a L-shape affair, and has fairly limited seating. There�s some exposed stone walls and a wood stripped floor, so the place has some redeeming features. There is also a fireplace, although this was not in use. The solitary beer on tap was Adnams Southwold. Ciders were Strongbow and Stowford Press. | Used to be a spit and sawdust pub (always good beer), then a kids pub. It's now a really nice place to spend an evening. Nice selction of drinks, nice atmosphere and ambience - somewhere between a bistro, wine bar and country pub if that's not a contradiction. laos has a large room at the back where they put live music on - open mic night on Wednesday is particulalrly good steveroberts - 9 Jan 2011 15:24 |
