Now owned by members of the Staffordshire Regiment Association.

Members contributed to the purchase of the pub - where the regiment was formed, over three hundred years ago.

A veteran runs it - and the pub is well supported by those associated with the famous local regiment.

Busy on one of the nights we visited with a local band playing heavy rock & metal [good stuff], good part covered smoking area at rear, I had pints of Lillington 'Regimental Ale' on both visits, a good ale.

Once upon a time, this place was a real pub, ran by Sid, and Sandra Farmer. Now it is just another homoginised shit hole no different than all the other shitholes created by aquiescent breweries across the land. Here you could buy the best game pie and veg, REAL home cooking rather than crap imagined by some advertising toady and their masters. Real heritage Britain gone for good, exchanged for bollocks. Sid and Sandra were booted out to be replaced with bland. They kept hens at the top of the yard and children ran about freely and loudly in an idyll that adveritisers try to present now when they want to palm off their corporate wares. Some say things are better, some say they are worse, but some things hold us all to this earth, but not the bankers with the silent 'W' I feel priviliged to have spent some time at this place of tumbling children, animals and school dinner pies out of trays, with bones and all. Goodbye Albion, I love you well.

Good old fasioned boozer in the middle of town and a MUST visit.
They have 8 hand pulls spread around three sides of the bar 3/3/2 so if you don't fancy what you see at first look for the others.
Marstons stable of beers on sale so I went for a pint of Banks Sunbeam @3.10

Visited on a Thursday evening, Live Jazz playing and nice atmosphere. Pub looking a bit tired, beer below par, you shouldnt have a pint of Pedigree that needs a flake in it!
