| A Chef & Brewer establishment so you know what you are going to get - very middle of the range, a good choice of decent but unexciting food and a surprisingly good couple of ales on when we visited - Bath Ales' Dark Side went down well. | I've always enjoyed my many visits to The Boat. OK, so it's a Chef & Brewer but it's better than most others and I've always enjoyed what I've had there. It's a quite impressive old building (a former coaching Inn?) staffed by friendly and helpful people in my experience. Although they obviously concentrate on the food side of the business, there are plenty of places to enjoy a drink. | A brilliant place to eat or just to have a drink with friends!!!! The pub has a fantastic atmosphere and unlike many pubs i go to the staff actually seem like they enjoy working here! I would reccomend to anyone!!!! Fantastic food and brilliant tasting beer. We visited on friday and it was packed out, obviously very popular. The managers were gently mingling with the customers making sure the visit was enjoyable. Obviously and very cared for pub by the management and the community.
