The Halfway Bridge has a nice location on the main A272 and looks an old building from the outside. The inside has been modernised and feels a little out of character. Food appears to be the main attraction. There is a small garden to the side. Ales were Langham Sundowner, Sharps Doom Bar & Arundel Sussex Gold. Nothing particularly special.

Sadly after several years of high class service & friendliness this pub is now under new management. It is obvious that those running it are just working for a wage & not interested in their customers preferences - lime in gin & tonic? no bottled Coca-cola only post-mix Pepsi, & worst of all beer well past it's best. Definitely a change for the worse but the prices are higher than ever.

Nice restuarant but not really a pub. Portions very small though and very expensive. Just to correct the last comments posted , dogs are welcome, but only in the bar area, as they do not allow dogs in the restaurant parts.

I agree with LDW, more of a restaurant than pub.

Had a good selection of ales, though my one was a bit warm.

On the plus side, it's open all day (drinks at least) so if passing by you can pop in for a swift one.

Also dogs and kids are welcome..

Walked into this 'pub' at lunchtime, to be met by a greeter with menus in hand: "Are you lunching with us today sir?".

Lunch - and beer - were excellent, and not bad value I thought. But it's clearly a restaurant not a pub, and it suffers from being too close to hearty rich people living in Petworth/Midhurst. There was more tweed on view than I have seen in ages.

So a positive report - but on the basis of my experience it's no longer really a pub.
