Old food orientated pub. Friendly staff. Didn't eat but the beer (King Bitter) was fine.

Nice pub in attractive countryside. It's next to an A-road but felt a lot more welcoming than most road-side inns. Mixture of locals and passers by. 3 or 4 real ales: the two I tried were in good condition and from small breweries. A mixture of dining and drinking with a cosy atmosphere and friendly service. There was an open fire going when I visited in December.

Whilst revisiting old childhood memories of the area with my brother, we looked in for a quick pint. Had a nice atmosphere.

A nice interior and beer garden tucked away around the back. Four ales on offer and the food was very nice. My only gripe would be that the food was fairly slow in arriving (about an hour), although admittedly the serving staff warned us when we ordered, it was a Sunday lunch and they were completely full, so perhaps I should be more patient! Overall, a very good option if you're in the area.

After searching for somewhere to eat and drink, having spent the day on the coast, we stopped by because the pub looked so attractive. What a good decision!!! Friendly staff and very welcoming. I had the Haddock and chips - which at 11 needed to be pretty special - and it was!! And my wife had Duck Confit which again was excellent.

Great selection of ales - I had Dark Star Best, Horsham Bitter, and Arundel Gold, all were absolutely perfect!!

Will make The Cricketers my first choice when in the area - just wish it was closer to home - may have to consider moving!!
