Ropey print of Shropshire Gold last night, Landord that would rather play the bandit than serve customers! A very average pub with a stage selection of funiture. Looks a bit run down and It appears the place has seen better days

Arrived at about 7 p.m. last night and the only 4 people in were playing dominoes in the corner. One of these turned out to be the landlord. There are 3 handpumps on the bar but only Salopian Shropshire Gold was on and this needed pulling through before he could sell me any. I was a bit worried that if this was the first pint of the day at 7 in the evening then how much are they selling? As it happens the pint was pretty good so my fears were unfounded.

Its a bare floorboards and stone flags sort of place with a large TV screen in the right hand room which also has a quiz machine. The walls looked pretty bare to me, almost as if the decorating hadnt quite been finished yet. Theres a beer garden across the road at the front of the pub with fine views over Ironbridge Gorge if you look straight ahead or to your left. The view to the right is dominated by the very imposing sight of Ironbridge power station and its giant cooling towers. Who the hell had the great idea to build that there and who let them? Its impressive but looks totally out of place in this scenic area. Its an OK pub but I wouldnt go out of my way to visit again.

Newly refurbished, relaxing contemporary decor with good Banks's beer - London Pride. Food served in non smoking restaurant on Tuesday to Sunday. Some good special events and menus.
