| This is a souless / flat pack Ember Inns pub, which might as well be the near by Markeaton. The quality of beer is hit and miss. They usually have a couple of guest ales on which is nice for the more cultured drinker - however I have had quite possibly the worst pint of Landlord I've ever been served in here. Not really a go to destination - more of one to visit if you are coming south bound into Derby on the way to better pubs such as the Five Lamps, Flower Pot, Silk Mill or the new Furnace Inn. | Ok for cheap offers on passable food in an emergency. Beer just adequate. Staff not particularly endearing. SPB - 21 Nov 2009 20:43 |
I have just noticed on Derby City Council Environmental Heath website that The Broadway has a rating of ZERO stars in respect of food hygiene. Zero stars indicates “VERY POOR PERFORMANCE” and “GENERAL FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH FOOD SAFETY LEGISLATION.” steve2905 - 11 Oct 2009 02:56 |
| Only a few years ago this was the place to be, lively clean great service lovely food. Sadly now though it's looking shabby, the once immaculate outdoor area is loosing it's battle against nature. The food is dire, once this place was full on a weeknight with diners, not anymore. The service isn't great, what's really missing is a landlord at the helm, I think the staff there turn up to work and do their bit but without direction or someone setting the standards this once fine establishment is fast going down hill. peddi - 25 Sep 2009 15:53 |
| Amazing to see how a once popular venue is now almost empty. In the 80's this was THE place for designer clothed young football hooligans to come in and see the best looking birds in Derby. The car park was full of Capri's and XR3i's. Weekends you couldn't move in the Broadway. Now it's a dull suburban pub. Seafarer1966 - 16 Sep 2009 14:15 |
