Doom Bar, Butty Bach, Mad Goose and Wickwar BOB were on sale today. I had a pint of BOB which was OK but I noticed that the beer was pulled through halfway through my pint so I guess I had just missed out on a fresh barrel. The pub has got some character but it looks like it needs a bit of TLC. Fine for an end of walk pint though.

It's a cosy, friendly place, with a slightly lived-in feel in this very picturesque little Cotswold town.

Given the setting, the pub perhaps lacks its own historic features rather, some might say.

There were three ales on when we called, London Pride, Wye Vally Butty Bach and Wickwar's Bob. We had the last and it was fine.

The Plaisterers is more of a drinkers pub though, and the beer is considerably better.

The pub is ok. More a restaurant with a bar, but the public bar is reasonably pleasant. The beer was a bit below par when I sampled it, but a pretty good, if slightly knocked through and adulterated pub experience.

Fast, friendly service. Perfect olde English pub with well kept ales and outstanding home cooked food at very reasonable prices. Desserts are to die for.
