Others wishes to close this pub were granted - its been closed, refurbished and re-opened as the Amber Inn.

Its smart inside, and was quiet when we popped in for a couple of pints (Timothy Taylor's Landlord and White Bear) last Sunday.

In chatting to one of the others there in the garden, he said "it could be good when they sort the food out"

Close the place down, hasn't been the same since Mick and Jean left. Full of chavs and quite frankly idiots, oh and the idiots kids, oh and the idiots kids kids................Mind you what should you expect when it was run into the ground by a couple chavs from Canvey Island.............Avoid like the plague.

Are you lookin at my pitt bull, are yeh? eh? Now the George has closed I imagine moves are in place to keep the chaves in Batford, so it's no bad thing there's somewhere local for them to go ...

The Dolphin is not that bad after all.The landlords have recently changed and you can see they've been trying hard to get rid of that bad reputation.I like this pub myself mainly because of the huge garden at the back where I can chill out with my friends on the summer eveninings. The pub need some work done but it's definitely getting better. Please support your local pub and give it a positive comment.

Picture the scene, I move just around the corner from the Pub with the intention of walking to it on summer evenings and enjoying lovely pints for many a time to come....
Then I went into the pub.
It's got to be one of the worst pubs i have ever been to. Spotty faced chavs with more gold than Mr T, downing as much Stella as their dole checks permit and groping their equally rough as sandpaper girlfriends all night.
The barstaff seem to hate the world and won't acknowledge you unless you are part of the 'in' crowd.
REMEMBER!!
Pass this one by, plenty of other great pubs within walking distance of this one. Truly a blot on the Harpenden landscape.
