Old fashioned and pleasingly so although the garden, in keeping with the village as a whole, doesn’t have much sun. We didn’t drink alcohol but a cod and chips was decent enough while the lashings of garlic bread accompanying a veggie lasagne would have taken several days to consume had my partner not admitted defeat.

Decided that this would be our post walk watering hole - having walking 5 miles up to Watersmeet and back through the moors.

Nice enough pub - think there were two real ales on - a decent Sharps Atlantic chosen in preference to a Speckled Hen.

Branoc and Dymsey on this lunchtime. Tried the later and enjoyed it Huge portions of food reasonably priced and welcoming chatty Landlord(?). Very doggie friendly. Would visit again.

Thought about popping in this afternoon but it was closed, seemingly for a private party. Espied Butcombe Bitter as the solitary handpull with another clip turned around when passing by yesterday so perhaps I didn't miss out on too much.
