Went in here the other night. The landlady dorren is so rude it is unbeleiveable. She is very nice to her little clan. Would not reccommend to anyone. The wicked witch of stepney still here.

People on here moaning that a pub doesn't serve real ale should realise the reason why; the vast majority of drinkers dont like it, its an aquired taste. Went in there on Friday, it was busy, and had very reasonable pices, £2.60 a pint

One of the last traditional East End pubs. Great atmosphere, very cosy and friendly. The landlady Doreen is a lovely person who is well respected by her customers. She even has a free bar towards Christmas every year to thank her regular customers for their custom througout the year. Haven't come across many publicans who do that! I am part of the week-end crowd who goes in for the live music on Saturdays and Sundays. Great place to watch the football too, especially the free bar food at half time. Top place!

"Don't say Real Ale say Sarsons" should be this pubs motto.
This boozer is holding on against all of the odds in an area where pubs are disappearing faster than playing cards up Paul Daniels sleeves. With a bar staff that couldn't recognise an off pint of real ale (the only kind they serve) if they were forced to bathe in it and with the magnificent Doreen in attendance, surely Wagners inspiration for the Valkyries, frightening stuff indeed, Gotterdammerung surely awaits just as it did for John Bull bitter (and the Romford Brewery Co.)Innocent passerby, do yourself a favour and pass on to the canal up towards Mile End Station. You'll find something in there more refreshing!

This was a lovly pub back in the 80's. It is now run by a woman called doreen who would look more at home in a concentration camp. Rude and unpleasent are to good of words for her. Hopefully when she leaves it may return to the good old pub it once was.
