This pub is not in Bristol, it is in the village of Barrow Gurney, which has it's own BITE entry.

Large prominent pub on the busy A38. Part flag stoned floor, but mostly carpeted. Old stone walls and plenty of paraphernalia such as copper pans hanging about the place. The food offering is fairly prominent with cruets and menus on all the tables, but at least thats it, theyre not all laid up with cutlery and place mats like some pubs. In spite of having many of the ingredients, it doesnt quite manage to pull off the traditional country pub feel. Maybe its too large, or maybe its the whitewashed ceiling with the recessed down lighters. Nonetheless, its not a bad place.
Theres a separate, largish restaurant area at the back, with, as others have said, great views from the decking. Food menu was extensive and reasonably priced.
Its a Marstons pub, so the beers were just their Pedigree and Ringwood Best. Also Blackthorn cider.

A roadside pub, with passing trade is what i could see when i visited ,a small but varied clientelle. However the service was good and the place clean, My food was very good well presented and served.Ther's a slight view of Bristol and the lakes from the back dining area. and it's a bit of a ramblimg building but aok none the less.

Beer range a little limited but food superb and staff pleasant. Good view of Bristol and near lakes from patio;ideal for the airport with bedrooms at modest cost.

Repainted and emblazoned brightly with "MARSTONS" on its exterior.
