Nice old thatched pub, cosy interior and a nice sunny garden. All the beers were just fine, and a good choice too. It's just of the bottom of the notorious Porlock Hill, so you can sit in the garden and breath in the fumes from over heated brakes and burnt out clutches.
Accommodation is available for those who want to stay, and menu look pretty good.

Stunning multi roomed C13th thatched pub.

Food is simple but well done and keenly priced.

Lovely little bar area for the drinkers. Five real ales on - Tribute, Otter Amber and Dark, Exmoor Ales and Beast. The beast made me laugh - 6.6% and if you order it, they disappear into the cellar for collection. Presumably its no allowed out with the others.

Throw in the wonderful log burners and you have my definition of a great pub.

Popped in earlier this week for a drink, good range of ales, lovely wood burner going and friendly locals. The landlady seemed really nice and there was a good atmosphere, top marks from me !

We went in a couple of times over the weekend and enjoyed our visits. About 6 good ales on offer including Proper Job, Exmoor's Ale & Beast and Wills Neck. The pub was busy both nights but our food was served quickly enough although the English veal was too overcooked which was disappointing. A better pub than the Royal Oak.

Visited on a wintery saturday, the place was quite empty apart from a couple of people at the bar and the whole feeling wasn't that friendly. Good beer though and a pleasent enough pub. We headed off after a pint and ended up at their sister pub the Bottom Ship at Porlock Weir, a more friendly pub I've yet to find. All in the timeing I suppose.
