Standard pub/dining type of place that's a but worn round the edges. They had three ales on but I didn't fancy risking them - think it was the right choice as people coming in after who bought ale (Hobgoblin) were sitting with a cloudy looking pint. had a pint of San Miguel.

Mutts are allowed by the bar area - where they are welcome to come and drag their arses along the floor.

wolvesfan, if you win the big one, what makes you think you'll attract customers to those particular establishments? Your track record isn't particularly good is it?
If you were able, you'd be doing it. Running a pub as a locum is not the same as being the responsible person. Think about having a real life, and get on with cashing your Giro.

Sad to say this pub is a shadow of its former self. The beer was in good condition, can't fault that, but the 'buzz' has long since gone. The old girl is getting tired and in need some love. I doubt Marstons (W&D) will supply any of that. When I win the big one, this pub, the Wine Vaults in Yeovil and the Bell at Standerwick will be mine!!!!

We are newcomers to this Inn - love the area and I like to treat my elderly parents to a meal out when we come down to visit them. Our first visit here was almost 3 weeks ago and I wasn't impressed with the service at all. The meal we had (roast pork) was delicious, tender and tasty - but we waited far too long before we got served - 40minutes after paying and placing order and making enquiries as to how much longer we needed to be patient? (There were 2 other patrons also waiting for their food).
Knowing the couple who were taking over - we made a booking for 10 people on the 1st May 2011. What a difference in only 10 days. So much more efficient, cleaner and treated to a delicious carvery. Plenty of patrons and I only wish both Tony and Kerrie all the very best in their new venture at the Sparkford, and that they go from strength to strength and much success. Congratulations!
