Lovely little pub with friendly, helpful and honest service. (They told us when we'd accidentally dropped some money!) Good choice of beers and some delicious meals that we all enjoyed whichever item we selected. Desserts also offered - but not tried.

Dropped in on a Tuesday afternoon. Ale from Badger in excellent condition, nice laid back vibe. Manages to blend a traditional pub feel with some nice eccentric modern touches. Couldn't imagine anyone in here drinking cocktails when I visited.

Last time I went to the Eel Pie I noticed their cocktail menu so I thought I would have a Long Island Iced Tea. The girl behind the bar clearly hadn`t a clue how to make it. She seemed to be consulting with something on their computer screen and I saw her tip her first attempt down the sink. Eventually, after a wait of about 12 minutes, this watery, insipid creation was put before me for which I was charged £6.50. Never again. If you are going to show off with a nice cocktail menu, then at least teach the staff how to make them (as in the USA). Otherwide, don`t bother - just stick to pints.

Aaargh, the Eel Pie now features a cocktail bar, upstairs loos with hand cream and food prices of £6 3/4, £7 1/2 etc. Yes prices in fractions, for those who can't do their sums.
The rolls are now "Freshly Baked Rustic Seeded Pan Bagnat" with various fillings.
The beers and Lagers have surprisingly gone down by 5p, but for how long ?
A pint of Badger is £3.30 which is probably the cheapest after Wetherspoons.
It is, however, incredibly smart with attentive and smiling bar staff but a good old boozer no more.

In here last Saturday afternoon just after the Lions rugby game.
OK but not as good a pub as it used to be.
10 hand pulls split 4/6 each end of the bar.
4 for Badger, 2 for Tangelfoot 2 for Brewers Bee & 2 for King & Barnes Sussex.
Now this is not a big pub, Open spaces at both ends but quite narrow in the middle by the bar which is where 5 larger drinking tw@ts had decided to stand right in front of the 6 hand pulls.
I tried a pint of the Badger @ £3.35 which was OK but not outstanding.
