Great place. Very much a food pub - very good and resonably priced - but excellent Harveys and good range of local guest beers.
Well situated pub for walkers on the South Downs Way and the Sussex Ouse Valley Way. Walkers welcomed.

A fantastic village pub with lots of history. Recent years have been hard and many in the village feared we would lose it. Since September Jon and Lucie have bravely taken a 10 year lease on the place. They have already transformed the atmosphere and are gradually upgrading and repairing the rather tired decor as funds allow. This is well worth a visit especially if you haven't been in in for a while. The Harveys is excellent and they also have a good guest beer, sometimes two at busy times of the year. The food is good and the games room now features a pool table, dart board and Toad.

Very impressed. Decor, ambience and service all good and the food was first rate. The only fly in the ointment was that there were only two cask ales (both Dark Star) - the third, probably Hophead, was off and the Partridge bitter, although tasty enough, could have been a bit colder. Nonetheless we fully intend coming again.

Pleasant pub which is the only one (or one of very few) on this road between Lewes and Newhaven.

Review of Abergavenny Arms from 6 October 2011

This pub is beautiful!! So peaceful and quiet tucked away in this lovely little village (with not even a shop in sight!!)..
The food arrived quick as a flash (it seemed) and was such a large portion that i had to take the remainder in a doggy bag as it was so good so i could finish it later!!!

Such a pity more pubs are not like this!!!!
