The Mill is still an excellent place to have a drink in Chester and is not too far from the station. Ales on Saturday evening were Coachhouse Mill Premium, Weetwood Best, Titanic Iceberg, Elland Edenish & 1872 Porter, Deeply Vale DV8 & Deeply Red, Phoenix White Monk & Thornbridge Jaipur. The cider was Millwhites Rum Cask. I opted for the DV8 and the 1872 Porter. The latter is a lovely beer, if not a little strong.

Just returned from a superb weekend at the Mill Hotel. My wife and I have been here many times before and have never been disappointed. On 31/1/14 I had a few pints of Ursa Major from the Beartown Brewery. This was superb. On the following day I sampled White Monk from the Phoenix brewery and found this to be equally as good. The bar food and restaurant meals were also excellent during our stay and this was topped off with excellent service from the friendly staff. Highly recommended !

It's still a close call between the Mill and the Brewery Tap for Chester's best pub in my opinion. The Brewery Tap wins it purely on atmosphere, as the Mill feels exactly like a hotel bar, which of course it is! Nevertheless it still has a great range - Old Maria Black Maria, Weetwood Best, Thornbridge Jaipur, Phoenix Corn Mill, Salopian Oracle, Coach House Mill Premium & Gunpowder Strong Mild & McMullen AK. Ciders were both excellent - Abrahalls Thundering Molly & Thistly Cross Ginger. Still a worthy stop on any Chester crawl.

Excellent selection of ales. Stayed in the Mill Hotel for a week on business and to have a real ale bar on site was an unexpected bonus! Bar is open to the public. I tried the Weetwood Bitter which was average, preferred their Cheshire Cat ale that I sampled elsewhere in the city. The bar is lively with mix of locals and hotel residents with a friendly and efficient bar service.

superb hotel bar with nine different ales on over fourteen handpumps!my pint of Derby"dancing in the moonlight" was lovely(3.05)most ales though were priced between 2.40 and 3) service was good and friendly admittedly till receipts on pints of ale do get my goat! The other thing one noticed was me being at the young "spritely"age of 31 i did appear to be around half the age of the other clientele, still great pub slash hotel bar ,8/10
