| Indeed this pub is still open and recommended for a quiet drink fri / sat evenings (no chavs there!). Its closed sundays though. Seems to have it regular clientele of locals, always freindly and easy to strike up a conversation. Hope this doesn't get demolished we are losing too many street corner locals like this for rampant consumerism. Number.6 - 14 Aug 2011 20:28 |
| I�m glad to report that this pub is still standing and the really friendly barmaid is still in situ. The drinks selection is very limited with only one of the three hand pumps being used for Harvey�s Best and the lager is limited with only Kronenburg and Fosters being available. There is also surger Guinness which I had not seen before so I plumped for the Harveys which wasn�t at its greatest. My wife�s Fosters also had a tinge of old which she wasn�t overly impressed with. It was great to see a pool table and a dartboard in this local�s boozer and I spotted a TV, although no advertisements for any sport. There are a few picnic tables in the paved beer garden to the side of the pub which is hedged off from the busy road. It�s a shame about the beer quality as I really liked it in here and wouldn�t have hesitated at an opportunity to return. hopefully I just caught them on an off day. Strongers - 1 Sep 2009 14:28 |
| Quite little pub with a really nice land lady. Feel really sorry for the owners because they were going to sell it for their retirement money and then found out the council are going to knock it down.
