Nice food in a nice 1930s building with 2 separate rooms, one for dining and one for drinking. The Butcombe Bitter and Doom Bar were both reasonably decent at £3.30 a pint. Worth a visit if intending to eat.

new management, great new pub. top quality food, nice decor, fantastic bear garden but...still (unfortunately) associated with the pub in its previous guises and therefore was virtually empty!
potential gold mine but needs to market more to get people in there- the ony criticism I have but it could make or break the pub!

please try-you wont be let down and that in it self would improve the place

Pleasant pub and family friendly - large garden out back. Only two ales on the dreaded Doom Bar and Wickwar's BOB, which we settled for and was in great nick. Worth a look.

Great food, friendly relaxed service, really is worth a visit or two or three. Good wine, some nice Whiskey and good local beer. However it is the food that makes it worth the journey to go to this pub.

has changed management again!

The split between the restaurant and bar is more clear. Sky TV is gone and the bar side is pleasant for a few nice relaxed drinks.

The restaurant side has been tweaked. Very good chef and staff. Food is delicious.

Sunday Roast is only 9.95 for a 3 course set menu. Delicious food and reasonable size portions.
