|Not a bad pub, but service a bit slow, due to inadequate staffing. Maybe I'll try at a later date.|

|I have just returned from sunday lunch service at the Anchor and it was very disappointing, the dry white wine was smelling and tasting of vinegar and the Thatcher's cider was off. Even the cokes were very heavy in the soda content. The staff didn't know what veg is served with the roast. The actual meal itself was horrid. The meat was very poor quality, overcooked beef for my girlfriend and very fatty pork in brown beef gravy for me. The peas and carrots were soggy. About the only good thing was the yorkshire pudding (which i suspect was out of a packet) and maybe the roast potatoes at a push because I was hungry. All in all a very miserable experience and never will I be seen there again. Takeaway for me now, as I think I have been put off roasts for a while... |
