On the way back into town I ticked Indigo Alley and to be honest it's not quite what I expected.

6 pumps that were dispensing 4 ales and 1 real cider , the other pump was spare. I opted for a pint of Rudgates York Chocolate Stout @ 5.0% which was excellent and well poured.

Having never visited here before I have no idea what it was like before but its been stripped-down inside and really has lost a lot of it's charm.

Pretty empty expect for us and one other punter, the landlord is friendly enough but its pretty soulless.

The beers great but the lack of features and punters let Indigo Alley down in my opinon.

Last pub on a brief pub crawl so memory is a bit vague but I seemed to recall it being a music venue with the added pleasure of decent real ale. A bit "eclectic" if that's the correct term?

Great pub. Not been here before but what a find!!! Live music, real beer - perfect. Not too busy and got a seat for the night. Boyriend enjoyed it too but turns out the landlord is a bit of alright so I "kindly" offered to get the rounds in for most of the night.

We had planned on going for a bit of a pub crawl but ended up here until closing time and then headed into town.

Highly recommend this place for good company, good music, excellent beer and the landlord who is very easy on the eye ;-).

Popped in on Bank Holiday Sunday only a dozen people in but seemed so much brighter & airier than it used to be, two of us had an ale plus one each lager & cider all excellent for 10.30, prompt friendly service, back on "the crawl" now.

Good to see the pub open again! New owner, Mike, has brightened up the place without spoiling it - not easy! Hobgoblin is a regular beer with 3 guest ales from breweries near and far - all in excellent condition.
