Yes I'm back again in my favourite Scarborough pub. Been coming here to Scarborough once or twice per year since '93 and popped into the Alma every time. but still no complaints! Only problem us it can be slightly hard to find but follow the directions in previous reviews and you can't go wrong - Cheers !

A new entry into the 2015 GBG so it had to be ticked.

The Alma is either reached from the Angel by walking through town like we did or follow the road round towards the station.

A decent looking pub that has 3 areas for drinkers, a large front bar with an arch that leads to a nook type bar & between the bar and toilets is a room with a pool in it.

The bar offered a large choice of ales and I was in 2 minds what to have so after much deliberation I went for a pint of Mansfield England's Pride which is a good honest pint.

A fair crowd of locals in with the wife and I being the only non locals.

Loads of toby, whiskey & ale jugs hanging above the bar and on the shelfs.

Without knowing this pub had made it into the 2015 GBG I wouldn't of bothered coming in as it wasn't on my walking route back into town, worthy of a stop though.

Only gave it 9/10 (should be 9.99/10 really) as don't want the landlord to sit back on his laurels too much! My 2nd review and pub gets better, great beer (Temptation, Englands Pride, Black Sheep & Old Rosie cider), Still v handy for station & town centre but with it being down back street so you don't get all the riff raff. I've been in every day while on this holiday so can't be too bad - well worth a visit!

Great little back-street boozer which is just off the main centre and very handy for the station. Four of us had a very pleasant couple of pints each (Copper Dragon Best being very good) and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Lots of nick-nacks everywhere help to make this a pub not to be missed.

Just got off the train at Scarborough and within 5 minuits I was being served a pint of Lancaster in excellent form. This is my second revue but I think it warrants it as this must be the ideal pub - very handy for the Station but away from the seafront so not too busy but not too quiet. Four real ales on at the moment. Also a lot of effort has been spent creating the right atmosphere with various jugs and other artefacts hanging from the ceiling (not quite sure what halve of them are!). I'll definetly return during the rest of my week's holiday here.
