The Elephant & Castle is one of those places I've passed many times. But, it's never looked appealing enough for me to try it out. But, with it now in the Good Beer Guide, I made a point of visiting here yesterday before catching the bus to the football at Millwall. The pub has been re-opened by Antic. Volden Session & Winter, Reunion IPA & Midnight Runner & Adnams Old Ale were the 5 ales. This was one of the better places on my South East London crawl yesterday and I'm sure it's a big improvement on its previous in incarnation.

At long last this pub is closed. Unsure what the future holds but I doubt it will re-open as pub again.

Probably the least bad of the three pubs around the roundabout. But that's probably the best that can be said for this place. Would you like fosters, fosters, or...ERM...fosters? Pint of fosters it is then. Less imminent sense of violence than in Chaplin's or the Rockingham though.

Possibly the worst pub I have ever been in. Looking for somewhere to have a couple of pints before a gig we ended up here. Looks unattractive outside, even worse inside, horrible decor, flies at the bar and a terrible selection of beers. Bar staff totally disinterested – stayed or one pint, couldn’t get out quick enough!
