Stayed in Happisburgh last week and visited here twice, once just for drinks, once for food. Both were excellent. Top marks to the very welcoming landlord and family / staff.

I stayed at this pub for over a year in 2000 (I used to work for Amoco building a power station in Gt Yarmouth). I think Clive and Sue still own it. They are a lovely couple who made my stay there most enjoyable so far from home - I live in Clevedon, North Somerset. From day 1 the welcome was fantastic, beer great, and the friendliest locals I've ever met. When it came time to leave I honestly didn't want to. I can't fault Happisburgh, it's people or the pub. OK it's not the Ritz by any way, shape or form but look past that to the people and the welcome and you'll be bitten by the Happisburgh bug. Great place to re-charge your batteries if you're feeling stressed.

This pub is a rare gem! Friendly staff and locals who gave me advice on the best beer of the day. The beer was superbly kept: thank goodness I was walking and not driving, This place is the best pub for many a mile in this part of Norfolk. Trust me I have been in most of them. This is also a very dog friendly pub, so bring fido.

Fantastic village pub, at the heart of village life. Excellent, well kept beers (6 on at all times). Cheap and cheerful B&B accomodation available over the pub, together with some classier rooms - a converted signal box and station masters office! Standard pub fair available. Bit shabby round the edges, but that's what I like in a pub - very friendly staff and locals.

Stayed in Happisburgh for two weeks, and we enjoyed walking up to the pub and staggering home again. Saw Andrew Marr's programme last night (Britain from above) and were shocked at the damage being caused. If Happisburgh only has another 10 years, this pub should upgrade to pull in all the Gastro types - would earn a fortune!
