Lip smackingly tasty pint of Sam Smith's Extra Stout was supped yesterday, the pub was empty though and silent, sadly cant see it remaining there much longer even with the good beers and prices, 7/10

I take back what I posted last year. The last pint of Sam Smith's Old Brewery I had there was ruined by chilling. The clientele on a Saturday lunchtime were a sad bunch. Not much to recommend it now.

This is a great pub if you are an avid Samuel Smith's drinker like myself. I also LIKE the fact that they are without an entertainment license. I have been in many places where the conversation was killed by music--not to say that I don't appreciate music, I just like a bit of meaningful human interaction every now and then.

One of the only 2 pubs in the county serving Samuel Smiths beer brewed in Tadcaster, Yorkshire, though this is now not available as a real ale here. It's a restored Victorian-type pub a few minutes walk from Gloucester cross
and the famous rugby ground at Kingsholm. Well worth a visit.
