Another Broads pub with a superb setting overlooking the river. The sailing club was out on the water adding to the charm. It's one of the Vintage Inn chain so you can expect it to look a little generic but that doesn't detract from its appeal. A few extra staff serving (food and drink) might have improved our experience slightly but there was very little to complain about. Only cask ales were Adnams Ghost Ship and Doom Bar so I suppose it could be argued that that's a slightly underwhelming range.

Am a big fan of this pub. Have family who live nearby so been going there for years and has always been a friendly place to go for a few drinks. Gets a bit busy in there during the tourist season but this is to be expected because of it's prime location along the river. Good food, good choice of beers and very welcoming locals.

A Vintage Inns boozer. We stopped for a drink mid-afternoon after pottering up and down the river.
Nicely done out inside - gave it a slight gastropub feel but not enough to make me feel like running straight back out of the door.
Only two ales on tap - one from Scotland which I forget, and Kelham Island Pale Rider. Both 3.45 a pint. Went for the latter and was perfectly drinkable, especially sat in the busy garden by the river.
Can't say anything about the food other than what people were eating looked nice and the portions sizes appeared pretty decent.
Only one guy behind the bar who was somewhat rushed off his feet but still polite, helpful and happy to offer a taster of the beers.
Would return if I were in the area.

We really liked The Swan Inn last week to visit for a meal and drink. The food seemed to have a good attention to detail (good presentation especially) but it did take a fair while to arrive. However, the dishes were very tasty and service/attitude from the waitresses was good, and this balanced out the wait as you knew it would be done well. The Swan got our business over The New Inn, both offer lovely views etc, but it pipped The New Inn on food quality and staff attitudes.

This pub just gets worse, i as a local use this pub from time to time, which has got less and less over the last few months. Friday 30/12/2009 we went had an ok meal but service was shocking. To top it all off a girl, member of staff off duty, was rolling a cigaratte up over food being served to customers. When we complained to the manager about this we were barred for life for causing a scene. what ever next for the swan inn...............................
