What a fantastic little place. Great for a pre dinner drink with the wife or girlfriend. Great for just a night out in general. They have over 50 different continental beers to choose from and only play the sort of music that it's possible to have a conversation over. Lots of Soul and Motown stuff. It's only open on Friday and Saturday nights at the moment but I think it opens on Thursday too during the summer. Best to get there around 8pm when it statrts to get going. There is outside seating and heating with canopies for shelter. Every other Saturday they have a great D.J outside on the decking. The alley way is filled with tables and chairs in a true continental style, people are dancing and having a great time. Can't wait to go back.

I discoverred this place just last weekend. What is it with these cracking little bars and pubs in Wakefield that are hidden away from the casual visitor? I've lived here pushing 2 years and I'm still uncovering real finds like this!
Great place, with a fantastic selection of good continental beers (as opposed to the usual bobbins like Stella, Kronenburg which are usually UK-brewed under licence) on deaft or bottled. I had a pint of a German heffe Weiss which was fab! Small and gets busy later on, for good reason

This is a gem of a pub which not many people know about. It is tucked away up a cobble type alley which is the first right turn immediately before the Black Swan on Silver Street as you go down Westgate. It only serves foreign beers on draft and has a large selection of bottled beers, including Leffe which I know is coming more into fashion, Duval, Tripel and God knows how many others. Not a large place, but is kept immaculately. Opens at 7pm weekdays (not Tuesday) and at 5.30 on a Saturday. No late licence, but if you drink Belgian beer from 7 to 11 you don't really need an extension! One last point for the lads - if you are lucky enough to visit on the night the extremely fit blonde barmaid is serving (nights vary) - then you've got an added treat.
