The previous landlords of the Crown have recently retired and new tenants have been running the pub for a little over a week now. First impressions look good. There are slightly longer opening hours. Beers were very good and included some from Brass Castle and Greyhawk as well as Village Brewer. There could perhaps have been one from a local micro. In the longer term there appear to be intentions to offer more food but the homemade cakes looked good.

I have used this Pub for many years and never found anything untoward. It's a village pub for Gods sake, how people can leave derogatory reports baffles me.
Perhaps they should just stay away!! Leave us to enjoy our REAL ALE in piece

The Crown Inn is a wonderful country pub with a wide following from far and wide. I have been visiting it for 7-8 years now (I certainly wouldn't call myself a regular though) and what brings me back are all of those elements that for me a great pub should have. Excellent and well managed beer (with plenty of CAMRA awards to boot), a good atmosphere, a good mixed clientele and a wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, humorous and welcoming landlord and landlady. It is spacious, welcoming and very clean and in the colder times of year has a wonderful open fire that is always well stoked. The events they hold at different times of the year are well worth a visit, especially the beer festivals.
One or two of the comments above can be happily disregarded. I can only assume they are posted from pubs that may feel they are in competition with this one - don't even try because it is a one horse race (and some of the other local pubs are very nice too) - or they are posted by people who spend their lives looking for the negatives even if they don't exist just so they can have a whinge on web sites like this. The staff are excellent and I can't think of a cleaner and more well run pub. It is a credit to those who run it and I must say many of those who frequent it too. Keep it going guys and for those thinking of paying it a visit, don't think too much just go.
