If you want to drink late but are too inebriated to gain access to a more reputable establishment and are not that bothered about the quality of the music, this place is for you. Any alternative history of London nightlife would have a chunky chapter on this place - a legendary venue and the probable successor to the gin palaces of Victorian times. Uncomplicated and fun, you won't have anyone sneering at you for your behaviour or what you are wearing in here. BoehmBawerk - 3 Jul 2011 12:09
One of the original Hoxton bars. This place was knocking out pints of red stripe when most of the the current skinny jeaned hoxtonista's who frequent this area were starting school. I have often rocked up here at 2:45 a.m. blind drunk for the late one until 4 to try and get hold of some skank. HLC - 26 Mar 2010 11:42
Recently refurbished, still has the great atmosphere and good cheap food. There was live jazz there last night, lots of people enjoying it! eileenaway - 4 Jul 2008 13:10
Great place to watch Champions League football (if you support Arsenal). Eclectic mix of people, students, locals. Friendly bar staff and owner. Decent and cheap Thai food. Only flaw are the toilets, but don't let them put you off. rolandgp - 10 Jul 2006 16:09
I am amazed no one else has reviewed this place up to now. one of my favourite bars in London. A bit rough around the edges, but serves a range of continental beers, has very reasonably priced thai food until 10pm and has a big screen for showing sport. Toilets could do with smatening up but that's the norm in many bars. kevins1966 - 1 Mar 2006 15:07
