Brilliant beer line up (Broadside, Landload, Doom Bar), full marks there Staff were nice too ....
Unfortunately food was awful. I had a roast, the roast potatoes looked as though they were from the week before, burnt and disgusting.
My wife had the lambs liver (requested to be cooked pink) and bacon with crispy pancetta. The liver was overcooked and the pancetta (crispy or otherwise) and bacon were non existent.
When asked at the end 'how was it' we told them. The waitress said sorry but nobody came and gave a real apology or even offered a free coffee as compensation.
Will not eat there again, although I will be tempted to go for the lovely beer selection.
Very disappointing.

Disappointing menu.

The landlord who looked like a dodgy second-hand car salesman seems to have departed. The new regime may actually care about beer quality so I think I may visit more often.

Since my last posting, they seem to have changed the chef!
The food seems to be of a far better quality. The welcome is still as friendly.
It's amazing what a change a good kitchen can do.
Jazz on a Wednesday is still going strong.

Having no axe to grind and no grievance against anyone, I am here to give a nice honest opinion.
I read the previous negative comments before deciding to come but because I was in the area anyway I thought wed give the place a go.
I entered a clean but cosy pub that allowed dogs. That pleased me because it gave the impression of a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. After my first drink I moved to a conservatory area which was light and airy and had a lovely view of the garden.
I ordered apple mash, pork medallions and garlic and cider sauce - it was amazing!
We didnt stay for dessert but we are planning a trip back very soon with the whole family, well worth the drive out!
