user reviews of Gibraltar Gardens, Norwich

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Great Pub with massive beer garden on the river brilliant in the summer and in the winter they have a lovely fire to stay warm by. Does home cooked food with a big food menu.

Don't pay attention to the reviews on here they are all well out of date! Apparently new owners took over in the summer this year and the place has been completely refurbished with much nicer staff. Well recomended!

Friendly bar staff. Normal customers. Quite pleasant experience with two real ales available. Much of the interior has is interesting original features apart from a pair of tatty sofas. I've seen better in the front garden of a house nearby.

Lovely building with original features intact, like the huge fireplace in the middle of one room.

The one thing that lets it down is the miserable bar staff. We got into a phase of going quite regularly, but were soon dissuaded when one particular barmaid did everything she could to make us (and others) feel unwelcome. No acknowledgement of presence, no thanks and certainly no small talk. Change is slapped into your hands without so much as a mutter. In fact, we left last time feeling like we were interrupting her day.

Go in the summer where you can take advantage of the decent sized garden. Don't expect a warm atmosphere inside though!
