Celled in here to meet a friend yesterday, 7th September. Idea was to have a drink before taking a bus from the bus station opposite. Called in about 11:00 a.m. .
When we first walked in, we couldn't see any handpumps, only fonts. Nearly left straight away until we noticed two handpumps tucked away at the left-hand side of the bar.
Had a pint of Sharp's Doom Bar - excellent quality, the young lady behind the bar was friendly and pleasant.
I would call in again, but not in the evening - with the new name and judging by the appearance one or two people who came in after we did, this place is obviously aimed at the youth sector of the market.
Would be worth calling in under similar circumstances - early doors - to have a decent pint before proceeding to other pubs in Shrewsbury.

This is now a very smart pub called 'The ALB' it had Salopian Oracle on tap when I visited this week, it does a large range of cocktails. Comfortable seats, upstairs restaurant, the clientele was 20-30 somethings, a good atmosphere!

Called in here for old times' sake because I think I had my first-ever pint of Banks's bitter in here, donkey's years ago. Banks's bitter still available, but beer good rather than great and the pub itself was a bit rough and ready with depressingly loud music for a Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't go back.

proper pub you dont see many of those around anymore, wasnt going to go in there it looked shut, but i needed the toilet, walked through the door all eyes were on me, had 2 pints, lot of banter between the landlord and the locals, there was no problem I enjoyed it had a chat with the landlord about the footy he's a big wolves fan. its nice to go to a pub thats still has tradional values

Superficially looks OK from the outside, but when one spots the agent's board then you begin to worry a bit. Inside, it looks like it could have been a decent place once but is now in need of a good bit of care and attention. Two handpumps, and despite my doubts the Banks's Original was fair enough.
