user reviews of the Windrush Inn, Witney

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Beer: Abbot OK but Cotswold Lion cloudy. Food & service mediocre - Father-in-law summed it up as "We could have had the same meal in Sainsbury's Cafe considerably cheaper". This pub would like to think of itself as a notch above a "Hungry Horse" but frankly it isn't.

Large pub on a main road, with great views from the terrace at the back. I get the impression it's the kind of place that does a cheap carvery lunch on Sundays and gets very busy with families.

Had a pint of Vale Bitter, which was disappointingly served at room temperature on a very hot day - ie around 25 degrees. I had to put ice cubes in it to make it drinkable. Cellar cool next time, please.

Saw this one on our way into Witney and called as we left for a carvery as we love them. To find real ale on too was a bonus. Lovely views at the back.

Come here and sit on the balcony and get a great view of the Windrush valley, has a happy hour, large garden with childrens play area, two bars and restaurant area that can spill in to the bars...to the dismay of the regulars.
