The Plough is an upmarket dining establishment that serves real ale. It certainly seems a popular place with a rather large car park that was filling up rapidly. I believe I was the only customer only in there for a drink. So this is another North Bedfordshire pub that is actually more a restaurant than a pub. Nevertheless I was made to feel quite welcome, with complimentary homemade crisps given to me to accompany my ale. Staff were friendly and professional. There were plenty of them too. 3 ales were on - Woodfordes Wherry, Adnams Bitter & Phipps NBC Beckett's Ale. Looks like the sort of place you'd head to for a special occasion. But I quite liked it.

Discovered this pub whilst driving round looking for a place to try after the pub we normally visit was closed at 9pm on a Thursday! What a delight! Adnams, Potbelly Aisling, and 1 other real on offer on our visit. Returned the next night when we visited the now open regular pub, who were too busy with the thirty people, including our party of 12, to serve food. Went back to the plough just before 9pm, received a very warm welcome, were seated within 15 mins and had the best meal I've enjoyed for years!

Get there before everyone else finds out how good it is!

Delighted by this place. Called in after failing to find any exciting places to eat in this part of Beds. Delightful. Very pleasant staff, good service, and excellent food. The lunch menu with separate prices for one two and three courses was good and modestly priced. House wine by the glass is not very cheap (medium size 4.50).

Food was excellent and well presented. Didn't try the beer this time but this pub has a Cask Marque and the Potton brewery is nearby. About three real ales to choose from I think.
Toilets exceptionally clean (You can judge much about a pub's standards by the state of the toilets!) and a lot of nice touches like the wicker patio seating, alternated chair designs around the tables and a modern extension that fits well with the older parts of the building.

When the over priced pretentious food arrived i was somewhat happy however this was quickly overrided with my dismay at the quality of my steak, it was tough and i could barely chew through it. My partner had the duck frois gras which although delicious contained something that we hadnt bargained nore paid for; a hair! However we did not get a chance to mention this until we were cleared as the staff seemed oblivious and did not check us during our meal. Although the drinks service was good. Overall a mediocre meal, and we will not be coming here again.

We visited the Plough (including my wheelchair). Pub is accessible via portable ramps and a little help on the way out. Staff were very helpful and understood wheelchairs and the person in them - that is they left the person in the wheelchair in control. Car park is shingle and challenging for chairs.

Food was very good and not expensive. Cost about 20.00 more for two people than you would expect to pay in a restauran/pub that had pretentious to be above the majority. For this we got attentive staff, food that was cooked on the premises, excellent service without any pressure, very pleasant atmosphere and a fine evening all round. The menu is restricted - quite right! Web site is very helpful.

A bright light in the desert that is Bedfordshire.
