Definitely a local's pub but if you like a basic pub with a lot of chat and banter then this is for you. The garden is a sun trap but the 'ornate' seating was just concrete fashioned into log seats and looked ugly. Locals sitting outside can put you off but the service and atmosphere inside was friendly. Reasonable beer, 4 ales on but not Cask Marque quality (too warm) so perhaps gone downhill a bit since 2009.

Runner up in the Camra pub of the year for 2009, great beer. Good sensibly priced food, cracking suntrap garden with unique and ornate seating, good views of the church. Has ample parking,

A fine pub worth the hike down the main street. Went on a Saturday afternoon, the place was practically dead - as were the punters.
Beer was good - a pint of Wolf or something and free pool which is always pleasant.
There's a garden and parking at the back with a pleasant view of the church.

If you are prepared to meet them half way they are fine. I was welcomed like a long lost son.Great beer.

Didn't go in. The hoards of local huddled round the front smoking and staring menacingly at you if you looked like you might go in was enough for me.
