only one reason Vic,because gunwharf is full of tw*ts who don't care, take a 5 minute walk into southsea for some decent pubs littlecon - 9 Jun 2012 09:01
THE MOST EXPENSIVE PUB ANYWHERE - WHY? tradervic - 8 Jun 2012 23:30
Reasonable pub. But the prices are far too high - £8+ for a large spirit (50ml in total) and a dash! I know no other pub, anywhere, charging these prices - and the food is very average - with students and agency staff serving. mandraker - 25 May 2012 22:51
There seem to be plenty of good pubs in Portsmouth, so why this one made it into a recent GBG is a mystery known only to the local CAMRA branch. The building itself is nice enough from the outside; it would make a good museum or even a top-end restaurant but it's not got the ambiance of a pub at all. Then again it's a strange pub where Pimms seems to outsell beer. Speaking of which, I promised myself I wasn't going to complain about prices again, but £3.60 for 3.6% in a tied house? Come on... djw - 25 May 2012 22:16
Only place in Gunwharf where you can get an ale but tremendously expensive. Pint and a glass of rose came to near 9 quid the other day - that hurts. 'Beer garden' has heaters but is surrounded by the high brick walls of the shopping centre. As another poster mentioned, best used for the occassional pint whilst shopping rather than a place worth visiting for itself. gravedigga - 7 May 2012 14:22
