Quite a good little place for a 'Spoons. Beers were in good nick and pleasant staff - even on a busy Saturday night. The London Pride was the best I've had in a long while.

Superb range of beers. Service is slow and would be improved with an additional member of staff at peak times. Tim Martin, the Chairman of Weatherspoons, lives in Exeter and could improve his profit by fixing this problem.

A bit more 'upmarket' than the normal Wetherspoons - both the beer and the food are a bit more expensive than you'd expect. This doesn't deter the sort of seasoned topers which you tend to find in all Wetherspoons, although there are probably a few less than normal. Fortunately, there are plenty of places (such as upstairs) where you can get away from them.
The beer which I drank on Boxing Day was pleasant but way too cold - if there had been a microwave behind the bar, I'd have asked them to put in in it for 20 seconds or so, to bring it up to the right temperature, so that I could taste it. Shame, because it's probably the most pleasant Wetherspoons in Exeter, otherwise.

It's a 'spoons. Expect the 'spoons experience, which has it's well-known ups and downs. On average, the best of the 'spoons in Exeter.

A plus for this one is the pair of balconies that most people don't bother with, meaning there's usually a quieter corner available. Fewer of the usual 'residential drinkers' than normal too.

You can't fault the look of the building but this is actually more of a hinderence. There is no atmoshere whatsoever and it dosen't suit wetherspoons at all. Getting served in here is very frustrating at times, not enough staff and people ordering coffees (i thought this was a pub!).
The beer garden is ok for a city centre pub so a 6/10 from me, mainly for the creative design of the building.
