First visit here today. Pub is decorated with a large collection of novelty teapots and Toby jugs. Not really sure what to make of this place. Beer quality of the two I sampled was not as good as it could have been. Friendly staff, food looked good and generous portions.

What a find... a proper pub
Visited this place a few years back, & decided to give it another go whilst we were in the area
This place in an oasis in a sea of gastro pubs
Friendly welcoming great food & excellant beer
For me its all about the beer - will be back very soon - thanks for your hospitality!

Please could everyone be aware that, the willeymoor lock tavern near whitchurch shropshire on the a49 is a lovely rural public house in an ideal location that is only spoiled by the fact that it is staffed by one or more of the most offensive people it has been my misfortune to have met .
The female ? member of staff ? management ? , has the manners of a pig , an attitude towards customers that is arrogant and has all the charm of a large bull terrier . An almost totally vile individual with a foul mouth and no social graces .
An attempt was made to complain to the management . This was met with a complete lack of interest and only leads me to think that they are anti motorcycle ( my mode of transport this evening )? , anti social and probably related ! .
I have been to this lovely place many times over the years in my car and have been ( mostly ) pleased with the service and reception .
My advice would be to avoid this place like the plague if you decide to use anything other than your rather nice jaguar as transport . To say that this woman was arrogant and disgusting is an understatement . Her foul language was overheard by an elderly woman and her friends and was just another part of her obnoxious character . All in all , not the way to win new customers or reward a visitor of more than 30 years !

Can't believe the last review this is a great pub
Clean, tidy & traditional - not plastic
Food was fanastic, whoever cooks the steaks is doing a great job!!
Yes the sandwiches are basic, but they are offered in aditional to the menu, there are plenty of other choices which are very well priced
Most notably there is a super choice of wines & real ales
I wish i lived nearer

Overpriced pub grub, and tatty interior, should be better service food etc for the prices. Basic rump steak 11-50 little or trimmings, poor quality for the price.Several people have said it was not a good place to eat,and I can see quite clearly why
