Hmmm, well I seem to keep well clear of Greene King pubs, mainly because the beer is SO boring but today we met friends there and had a few pints of Abbey, really really nice. Nice pub lunch, the chips were exceptional! So not really my sort of pub but we've taken the grandchildren in there in the past, the playground is really good too, and the place is not at all bad.

Great family pub. Clean and well kept with plenty of room. Small but decent play area in the back garden. Front area overlooks the cricket green. Meals around £8 - standard stuff. Greene King chain - three casks in good condition.

Happy to come back. And happy to suggest to other families when in Maidstone.

Given it's location this could be a great pub but it's not. Very bland with no proper beer.

This pub has changed considerably since 5 years ago. Used to be busy for sports but when we arrived for the Chelsea game there was no TV to be seen. Gone too were the pool table and darts. That said the place was clean and tidy, playing pretty good music (first time I've heard Supertramp in a while) and was suprisingly busy. The staff were polite and so we stopped anyway for lunch. Yes, it has to be said I have seen the menu in other venues before but the food was very good and my Sea Bream from the specials board was clearly homemade.
It would appear the pub did not need sport and the clientel has been uplifted somewhat! Well worth a visit.

Agree with the previous. Take the kids for a cheap meal and play area in summer. Or jump in car and look for the Yew Tree in Sandling as probably the only decent real pub/food alternative.
